After this week's announcement, we feel one step closer to resuming our face-to-face activities and seeing our neighbours in person for the first time since March last year. For now, though, we’ll be sticking to our vibrant online programme of Virtual Social Clubs and #AloneTogether activities.
All of our Virtual Social Clubs are free to join, but you do need to pre-book so please call us on 0207 118 0404 if you would like to attend. They are now more accessible than ever, with three different ways to join in the fun:
1. Take part using a computer, tablet or a smartphone with an internet connection (marked with a computer symbol in the list below). If you’ve got access to the internet at home, you just need to download Zoom to join, which we can support with if you get in touch.
2. Take part by dialling in using a phone (marked with a phone symbol in the list below). If you’ve got a landline or mobile phone, you can join some of our clubs by just calling in.
3. We can phone you directly from any of our phone accessible clubs (marked with a phone symbol in the list below). So, if you are worried about following the instructions, let us know and we’ll arrange to call you just before the club starts.
💻 📞 Tuesday 2nd March, 2-3:15pm: Virtual South London Stories
Grab a cuppa and get to know your neighbours through meaningful conversation starters. This month the theme will be ‘Wish You Were Here - Animal Edition’. Have you ever wondered what it would have been like to see the extinct Woolly Mammoth in real life, the strange DoDo Bird or the infamous Sabre-Tooth Tiger? Or perhaps you wish we could do more to save the dwindling numbers of beautiful Polar Bears, the mighty Rhinos or those cheeky Cheetahs? Bring your thoughts, your favourite rare or extinct animals and what you would do if you ever had the chance to meet them!
The photo above shows neighbours at last month's Virtual South London Stories, where each brought along a meaningful photo so they could share precious memories and funny stories.
💻 📞 Wednesday 3rd March, 2:30-3:30pm: Virtual Crossword Club
Join your neighbours and release your inner 'puzzle person', engage your mind and have a pop at a crossword. No need to be a crossword connoisseur, everyone’s welcome.
💻 Sunday 7th March, 2-4:30pm: Virtual Film Club
Join your neighbours as we watch the epic adventure comedy ‘Around the World in 80 Days’. To win a bet, an eccentric British inventor joined by his valet and an aspiring artist, embarks on a trip full of adventures and dangers around the world in exactly 80 days. 📞 Thursday 11th March, 2:30-3:30pm: Virtual Coffee & Catch Up
Grab a cuppa, and dial in for an hour of chatting and sharing stories with your younger neighbours. This month we’ll chat about what is the best piece of advice we’ve received and why.
