The sun is shining, flowers are blooming, and here at SLC we’re very excited to celebrate the start of longer days with our older neighbours at Social Clubs in April!
In the theme of fresh beginnings, we’ve added a sassy new Salsa club to the programme this month, as well as a few extra special one-off events. So you could join your Brixton neighbours for a knees-up in honour of Shakespeare’s birthday, get cheeky with the Stockwell gang at life drawing, or enjoy a picnic in the park with your Forest Hill friends!
Just by popping along to one of our social clubs and having a cup of tea with Anthony or Joan can make the biggest difference to their day; lifting their mood from a lonely low, to a sky high!
Thanks for all the wonderful things you're already doing to make your older neighbours feel lively and loved. Our social clubs wouldn't be possible without you, your personality, warmth and enthusiasm.
Last week older neighbour Betty came to her first social club, and told us: ‘I've not felt so carefree and alive in a long, long time!’
We're welcoming more and more older neighbours to the South London Cares family, and they're all looking forward to hanging out with you!
