The phrase 'as easy as riding a bike' is used when people are doing something that is easy to pick up. That feels natural. That comes easy.
But given the number of flushed faces and pained expressions I saw as PwC took on our Fuel for Fuel challenge, I'm not sure that riding a bike is easy at all.
Heather, Ed and the Sustainability and Climate Change team at PwC pedalled fiercely over two hours to see which team could cycle the furthest. Donations poured in to support the challengers' impressive efforts, with Toby, Oliver and the gang burning some serious fuel to raise funds to ensure their older neighbours can stay warm, active, healthy and connected during the winter months.
There were some impressive dressing up efforts too, with slow food vs fast food really drawing the attention of fellow colleagues who cheered on the challenge during their lunch break.
The team also did a bake sale, with goodies such as chocolate chip cookies and lemon drizzle cake good enough to rival any Great British Bake Off contestant!
A total of £289 was raised to help ensure dozens of older neighbours can stay warm, keep active, and feel valued, vibrant and visible during the challenging winter months.
A heartfelt, warm, thank you from us all! You guys rock!
