On Monday 30th April, South London Cares and our sister charity North London Cares came together for our annual fundraising dinner.
The evening was to celebrate the wonderful friendships formed across our patch, and to raise money to ensure that more company, conversation and companionship can be shared during the summer months.
And to give the guests an idea of the sort of fun that is had at our Social Clubs, Frances, Michael, Eustelle, Peter, Daphne, Lauren, Adam and George performed an extract from Willy Russell's 'Our Day Out.'
The performance was just one moment in a wonderful evening that was attended by 170 Cares Family supporters.
Everyone was treated to delicious food, wine kindly donated by Borough Wines and beer donated by Southwark Brewing Co.
There was a fundraising game to help break the ice, and an auction of unique prizes.
And we were joined by David McDonough OBE, who we were proud to announce as our first Cares Family Patron.
All money raised helped to fund over 100 Social Clubs across Camden, Islington, Southwark and Lambeth this summer.
We're so grateful to everyone who came and supported North London Cares and South London Cares – and thankful to our neighbours, who wowed us with their theatrical debut!
We're thinking we might do Shakespeare next...
