Diana, 86, recently shared how getting to know her younger neighbours at social clubs has helped her maintain a sense of belonging, even amidst the constant changes in Elephant and Castle, an area she’s called home for 65 years. As she puts it, social clubs “feel like community”.
You might notice that we’re holding a few less clubs next month. That’s because we’re making time for a planning week, so we can get lots of exciting things in the diary for the rest of the year. But we've still got 16 fantastic opportunities for you to join us at a social club (or two) to help others like Diana feel valued and connected.
If you missed the Edinburgh Fringe, make up for it at our Comedy Workshop in Brixton, back by popular demand. Professional comedian Jamie will have you in stitches and you’ll also get the chance to come up with a few of your own jokes with the likes of John and Rene. Or why not shake off the day’s work at our Celtic Dance in West Norwood? We also have our familiar and famous Choir in Peckham, Quiz Club in Elephant & Castle and Tech Workshop in Herne Hill.
