Social Clubs coming your way in May

Summer's coming up – and at SLC that means plenty of fun in the sun for the whole season, starting on May 2nd. And whether you're a regular or you've yet to volunteer, we'd love you to be part of it.

Social Clubs are a fun, flexible and different way to meet your older neighbours. Next month we've got dinner parties in Borough, line dancing in Streatham, tech sessions in Brixton, and many more!

The activities bring people together and create new experiences for neighbours young and old. However, the most important part is not what cake is being baked or which movie is being watched, but the new connections made and the relationships started.

It is so easy for us to get caught up in our everyday busy lives and not think about what's going on in our ever-changing neighbourhoods. Coming along to a social club is an opportunity to engage with your community and spend a few hours in the relaxing company of your older neighbours.

It's these relationships that are the centre of what we do and it wouldn't be possible without our brilliant volunteers. Over the past ten months, young south Londoners have formed networks across Southwark and Lambeth through volunteering at Social Clubs – just one of the ways you can get involved and show people that they are still valued at the heart of their community.

So why not sign up this month and come and join us for the start of the summer season and get to know your neighbours better?
