Across south London, many older neighbours are seeing their gardens become unmanageable and are looking for help. Can you spend a few hours each month to help an older neighbour?
There's no need to be especially green fingered, but just to have an enthusiasm for a few hours outside in the August sun!
Through our special summer project we've been reaching out to older neighbours across south London to reach people who might be in need of some extra support in the hot weather. The responses are coming in thick and fast. The summer is the best time of year for most of us, but it can also be tough for older people.
Neighbours like Patricia, June and Theresa are looking for someone to help them maintain their gardens as part of the Love Your Neighbour scheme. The heat and occasional downpours are causing growth spurts in gardens all over Kennington, Camberwell and Tulse Hill! It may just be some weeding, pruning or watering. We're sure there'll be a cup of tea involved too...
Can you help out? We're looking for people to visit once or twice over the coming month or so to help someone achieve a task they can no longer do themselves. If you want to get involved, we'd love to hear from you. Please email [email protected]. Speak to you soon!
