At the end of March, our wonderful supporters baked up a (sweet) storm to raise money for South London Cares’ spring social clubs. And the icing on the cake is that an awesome £1,400 was raised.
Amy treated her colleagues at Kensington and Chelsea Council to gin based cupcakes. She also went the extra mile and organised a great pizza night for her friends.
Elsewhere, post-lunch coffee breaks have never been sweeter at London’s Snapchat headquarters, thanks to volunteer Elena’s delicious batch of cakes.
Meanwhile, just off Trafalgar Square, volunteer Louise and her colleagues feasted on sweet goodies for two days in a row. They marked the end of their baking endeavours with a raffle to raise that extra bit of cash.
And the Octopus' offices in Farringdon were just as creative and generous. Their team produced endless slices of cake, and even had prizes for best presentation and most tasty.
Last but not least, our friends Arjun and Leen at Nera made their colleague’s Monday sweeter than ever. And so did Val - our Development Coordinator - who held a tiramisu and pizza flash sale at South London Cares’ own office in honour of her Love Your Neighbour match, Anna, 94, who hails from Naples. Who wouldn’t want to start their week like that?
Thank you to everyone who took part. You have helped to make friendships and laughter possible this spring in Brixton, Bermondsey and beyond. You are all baking champions!
And if you missed Cares’ Cake Week but still want to make the difference, then why not hold a bake sale this year? Check out our ‘How to hold a bake sale’ guide to see how easy it can be.
