Vote for South London Cares in the Aviva Community Fund!

Please note: this post is 103 months old and The Cares Family is no longer operational. This post is shared for information only

South London Cares has been selected to take part in the Aviva Community Fund, and could get up to £10,000 worth of funding.

With this, we we'd like to host three Love Your Neighbour dinners in 2017, bringing our matches together to share friendship, laughter and company. But we need your vote to be in with a chance of getting this funding.

It couldn't be simpler to support us. All you need to do is register with Aviva Community Fund and vote!

And what's more, you can vote up to ten times for South London Cares. And more votes means we're more likely to be successful.

If we get enough votes between 21st October and 18th November, our project will be submitted to a panel of judges, who will then announce the winners of funding in January 2017.

We want as many people as possible to vote for South London Cares. So please do share on Facebook and Twitter, tell your friends and pass on to colleagues. A few, quick clicks and you could make a brand new project possible.

THE PROJECT

Patrick And Lucy

If we're successful, we'd like to hold three Love Your Neighbour dinners throughout 2017 to bring our Love Your Neighbour matches together. It's something we've never done before, but would love to do in order to deepen our Love Your Neighbour friendships.

These dinners would be free for everyone invited, and take place in pubs or community centres, accessible to all. Each dinner would be a special occasion; with a focus on creating the 'fine dining' experience for our older neighbours, complete with good food and smart dress.

These dinners would be an opportunity to strengthen the Love Your Neighbour network, with matches meeting one another in a vibrant setting to share stories, form further friendships and ultimately, deepen connections – not only with one another, but within the community.

Lyn Match

For neighbours who struggle to leave the house, these dinners will provide a sense of purpose, belonging and something to look forward to. They will strengthen friendships with younger neighbours and create shared memories of this special occasion.

Your support would cover the cost of food, transport and resources needed to hold three dinners for our Love Your neighbours throughout 2017.

If you'd like to make a difference in a matter of minutes, please do vote for South London Cares. Just head to our project page and get clicking!
