July brings an exciting milestone at South London Cares — it is the first month since the pandemic began where we will be running more Face-to-Face Social Clubs than Virtual Social Clubs! Check out this blog to see what we have on and how you can get involved.

Volunteers' Week runs from 1-7 June, and this year’s theme is “saying thanks”. Whilst our programmes focus on mutual fun and friendship rather than the traditional sense of volunteering, we wanted to celebrate members of our network who have gone over and above to support their younger and older neighbours.
Our activities in June see the return of face-to-face Social Clubs for younger and older neighbours, the relaunch of our #AllTogether Activity Packs and the continuance of everyone's favourite Virtual Social Clubs. There is so much to do you won't notice the weather!

In January, we re-launched our Phone Social Clubs. Similar to our Virtual Social Clubs, these take place over Zoom, but the difference is everyone joins via their phone – allowing anyone who doesn’t have a device or knowledge of technology to take part.
Last month, the Love Your Neighbour team hosted our first virtual Volunteer Celebration Evening. It was great to bring everyone together, giving our newer younger neighbours the opportunity to meet other longer-standing matched volunteers, share learning and experiences, and, most importantly, celebrate the impact they all made over the last year.
