Our core team work day-to-day to plan and deliver the projects and partnerships that connect people and build communities in south London. Jasmin White - Head of Programmes

Jasmin oversees South London Cares' Social Clubs and our Love Your Neighbour programme, as well as managing the team. Previously Jasmin worked for Headstart supporting young people to volunteer in their local community and develop new skills.

Olivia Broomfield - Programme Coordinator (Social Clubs)

Olivia designs and delivers Social Clubs across Southwark and Lambeth. Previously Olivia was an English Teacher in Madrid, and was a volunteer at a Refugee Centre where she ran free English workshops.

Emily Groves - Programme Coordinator (Social Clubs)

Emily designs and delivers exciting Social Clubs across Southwark and Lambeth for younger and older south Londoners to enjoy together. Before joining the team, Emily worked for Theatre Centre, a touring young people's theatre company.

Enoch Adolfo - Programme Coordinator (Social Clubs)

Enoch designs and delivers exciting Social Clubs across Southwark and Lambeth for younger and older south Londoners to enjoy together. Previously Enoch worked as a professional musician as a Drummer, and worked on a start up in East London working on a cycling app.

Leighann Morris - Programme Coordinator (Love Your Neighbour – Lambeth)

Leighann leads on our Love Your Neighbour programme in Lambeth, connecting younger and older neighbours one-to-one for weekly visits and longterm friendship. Previously Leighann worked for Bow Arts Trust, an arts and educational charity in east London.

Oliver Wareham - Programme Coordinator (Love Your Neighbour – Southwark)

Oliver leads on our Love Your Neighbour programme in Southwark, connecting younger and older neighbours one-to-one for weekly visits and longterm friendship. Before joining the team, Oliver worked for the British Red Cross’ Independent Living service supporting older neighbours returning home after a stay in St. Thomas’ Hospital.

Matt Scaysbrook - Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator

Matt manages our growing volunteer network, and leads on reaching older south Londoners - introducing them to South London Cares and our programmes. Previously Matt worked as a Personal Trainer in various parts of London, and before that was an officer with the Metropolitan Police.

Jodie Goffe - Development Coordinator

Jodie supports our individual donors, coordinates fundraising events and cheers on our challenge fundraisers. Jodie previously worked in the fundraising team at an International Development charity.

Johanna Brooks - Development Manager

Johanna supports our individual donors, develops business partnerships and coordinates the fundraising programme for South London Cares. Johanna previously worked as a Producer at the London Short Film Festival, and has also worked for Postcode Films, A Run for your Money and the BFI London Film Festival.

Catrin Thomas - Head of Development

Cat supports the development team and leads on Trusts and Foundations for The Cares Family –South London Cares and at our sibling charities North London Cares, Manchester Cares, Liverpool Cares and East London Cares. Previously, Cat was Fundraising Manger at Pause.

Charlie Jamieson - Director of Programmes

Charlie coordinates our programmatic strategy across The Cares Family –  South London Cares and at our sibling charities North London Cares, Manchester Cares, Liverpool Cares and East London Cares.  Previously, Charlie managed our business partnerships at North and South London Cares and prior to that, created and led the Social Clubs programme at South London Cares.

Emily Quilter - Director of Development

Emily develops corporate partnerships, supports our individual donors and coordinates the fundraising strategy across The Cares Family – South London Cares and our sibling charities, North London Cares, Manchester Cares, Liverpool Cares and East London Cares. Previously, Emily worked as Development Manager at charity Shakespeare Schools Festival.

Alex Smith - Founder/CEO

Alex is CEO and founder of The Cares Family – South London Cares, North London Cares, Manchester Cares, Liverpool Cares and East London Cares. He was formerly an aide to Ed Miliband and editor of one of the biggest political websites in the UK. He is a governor at Holloway School and was a volunteer during the 2012 Olympics. He has been awarded two UnLtd social enterprise awards for his work founding North London Cares in 2011 and South London Cares in 2014. In 2018 he became one of 20 inaugural Obama Fellows in recognition of his work building communities to reduce loneliness and polarisation.
