Last year, volunteer Mateja walked 50km for South London Cares. This year, she's signed up to our London 2 Cambridge Challenge – but doing double the distance. In this blog, she explains why she's signed up to walk non-stop for 24 hours.
We're really proud to present South London Cares' very first Annual Report. The 28-page report covers the period from our opening in August 2014 to the end of December 2015, and the two financial periods within those 16 months.
Lilian and Nell have a fair bit in common. They both live in the same neighbourhood of south London, they both love magazines, and they both love a chat. Nell started visiting Lilian each week in December as part of our Love Your Neighbour scheme to connect older and younger south Londoners who wouldn't usually have the chance to meet. After smashing the Thames Path Challenge in 2015, we're now looking for a team to walk 50km for us from London to Braughing.

Since we started South London Cares in August 2014, over 300 young professional volunteers have actively been part of the community network, hanging out with and helping 586 older neighbours in Southwark and Lambeth, with many more signed up and ready to join us in 2016.
