As the new year approaches it’s a time for reflection and we want to look back and celebrate just some (19 for 2019) stories, neighbours and growth within our community.
As an ode to the year, last Saturday, boots were filled with mince pies and partying as Ellie and Reg joined their neighbours for an afternoon of food, conversation and good cheer at South London Cares’ annual Winter Party.
South Londonders and accomplished bassists Bill and Ben met in January through our Love Your Neighbour programme.
As we roll gently into November the evenings draw in and the temperatures start to drop, which means something big here at South London Cares... Winter Wellbeing is in full swing!
When discussing the subject of black history, it's very easy to focus on a narrative of oppression and blues but there is so much more to it! There’s a whole hidden history to learn from and be inspired by: stories of strength; determination; and success against the odds - all waiting to be discovered and celebrated. This October, neighbours have contributed to (and enjoyed!) social clubs with a Black History Month focus, joining the rest of the UK in commemoration and celebration.
